Frequently Asked Questions
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. What are the advantages of having a plasma TV screen cabinet?
A. A plasma or LCD TV screen is fantastic, but if you put it in the middle of the wall, the TV dominates the room and takes up valuable wall space - plus there are unattractive wires and power cables to deal with and an expensive decorating job to hide them. With a plasma screen cabinet, the television is hidden away in a stylish cabinet. When you don’t want to watch television, it’s concealed - when you’re ready to watch your favourite programme, a lifting mechanism automatically lifts the plasma TV out of the cabinet to viewing height - at the touch of a button on the remote. And when the programme has finished, you simply press the button again and the TV magically disappears inside the cabinet. The cables don’t need to be hidden in the wall because the television and the wiring is concealed inside the cabinet.

Q. Are the cabinets available throughout the UK?
A. Yes - we can arrange delivery and installation (if required) nation-wide.

top

Q. Is it a proper working fireplace?
A. Yes. The fires we use are called flame effect fires so they are electric so no naked flame but give the appearance of moving flame and also generate 2kW of fan forced heat which will heat a good size room in approx 10mins.

top

Q. Does the heat affect the TV?
A. No. Because cool air is drawn in at the rear of the fire then heated as it is forced out the front. This means no heat is present around the back of the fire to affect the TV.

Q. Is it true that if I mount my TV on the wall above a wood burning or gas fire it will void my warranty?
A. Yes there have been many cases where manufacturers have not honored a warranty claim because the TV has been exposed to heat. This is why the 'Firelight' range is such a revoloution. You can have your fireplace and TV combined without any risk to the TV.

Q. What sort of cabinets are available?
A. The cabinets and fireplaces are available in a wide range of styles, so you can match new and existing decor. The “Mirage” cabinets are in a modern style while the “Illusion” cabinets are more classical. They are both available in a choice of solid wood such as cherry, walnut, maple, oak, pine. The “Illusion” cabinets are available with a variety of hand-made grilles (solid brass, chrome, aluminium, wood) or solid panel designs.
A painted finish is also available to match your decor.

Q. I've been told that radiator cabinets have to be made from MDF, are your Illusion cabinets also made from MDF?
A. Our products are made from solid wood and veneered MDF. Radiator covers are made from MDF because it's a stable material and is not affected by heat. As there is no heat associated with our cabinets we can make our furniture using solid wood products.
